Lenny woke up and apparently got assigned a child. He’s a big deal over at @lenwichthegolden and usually has total main character energy. But this new video shows the Golden Retriever losing his mind over a tiny Dachshund puppy named Vivian. He looks utterly confused and starts out just staring at her on the carpet. And that’s because he has absolutely no idea what he’s supposed to do with something that small.

It’s a total disaster from the start!

Golden Retriever plays with new puppy in adorable video

The whole video is narrated from Lenny’s dramatic point of view. It starts with: “Today, I was forced to babysit what I believed was a stuffed animal.” Every time Lenny tries to play, he accidentally knocks the puppy over, or she just rolls onto her back and gives up immediately. The Golden Retriever even tries putting her on the couch to make things fair, but that backfires. In the video, the tiny pup starts barking like anything, and then just decides the couch is her new bathroom. Oopsie.

When the puppy starts peeing on the couch, Lenny basically runs for his life. “That one’s on me. Sorry, mom and dad,” he narrates. It is honestly hilarious how much he regrets that decision.
“I’m still not convinced she’s real,” the caption says. He eventually just gives up and becomes a living toy holder. He sits there with a chew toy between his paws so the puppy can gnaw on it.

But then he realizes she’s getting away with everything. She gets to chew on mom’s slipper, and everyone calls it cute, but when he does it, he’s “unhinged.” The double standards are clearly hitting him hard. The day ends with Lenny being banished to the puppy’s “pee pod” bed after he tries to take over mom’s lap. He claims it’s comfortable anyway, but he looks exhausted.

One person in the comments mentioned they loved the immediate run he made when she started peeing. Another fan said he has nerves of steel. By the end of this video, the Golden Retriever is ready to go back to being an only child. He’s going to need a long nap to recover from this babysitting gig.
